Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture

Reference: BE-33
Duration: 1 Day(s)

Description

As part of its collaborative software engineering processes, MBDA has developed a unified architecture concept to eliminate disharmony among product software, model software and algorithm systems.

This course has been designed to introduce the Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture concept and to help understand its benefits. It demonstrates how a UML tool such as IBM Rational Rhapsody enables definitions of Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture to be closely linked to system architecture models above and software architecture models below within a single environment.

Delivered as classroom training, the course uses an MBDA specific example to ensure that the unified architecture is understood in the relevant context and allow delegates to immediately start using the Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture concept in their projects.

Content

  • What Software Architecture is and what are its components
  • What Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture is
  • How the Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture fits in the MBDA context
  • Joint Architecture Convention and the orthogonal viewpoints
  • What nodes are and how they are useful in modelling Tasking Architecture Viewpoint
  • How nodes communicate amongst themselves
  • How to represent Tasking Architecture Viewpoint in UML and on paper
  • What software scheduling is and how to use software scheduling techniques
  • The design principles behind each of the viewpoints of Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture
  • How Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture is useful to develop real-time embedded software systems
  • How Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture is implemented in a Performance Model
  • How Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture relates to autocoding in a LOCI process
  • How IBM Rational Rhapsody is useful for linking Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture to system architecture models  and software architecture models

Who should attend

Software Developers and Managers who wish to learn about using Joint Algorithm/Software Architecture in developing MBDA embedded software systems

Prerequisites

Although not essential, the ideally the candidate would have already attended “BE-32-Fundamentals of Model Based Systems Engineering” course. A Basic awareness of the role of embedded software in MBDA products would be an advantage as would a basic familiarity with SysML/UML views.
